Buildcorp is a privately owned and operated commercial construction company, established in 1990 by Tony Sukkar AM and Josephine Sukkar AM. With offices across the east coast of Australia, the company services a wide variety of public and private sector clients, with projects spanning the disciplines of commercial construction, refurbishment, building upgrades, fit-out, remedial building, heavy industrial projects and architectural joinery.
Today, Buildcorp has successfully delivered $5 billion in projects across multiple sectors in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. It employs over 350 staff and has an annual revenue of approximately $500 million.
The collective, collaborative attitude of its people is Buildcorp’s real difference and the reward is three decades of success: passionate staff, loyal customers, industry leading systems, award winning projects, supportive suppliers and a reputation for excellence.
Construction operates within a highly regulated environment where organisations and their employees and contractors are required to comply with Local, State and Federal Government building standards, environmental codes and safety controls. It is a complex, competitive, and dynamic sector.
Whilst the mid-term outlook for the industry is broadly positive it is not without its challenges. A shortage of skilled labour that is intensifying due to generational change, increasing wage pressure, and upswings in construction costs are all placing pressures on the profitability, and sustainability of construction companies. At the same time, the industry itself continues to undergo transformational change, driven by digital advancements, demographic shifts, and evolving consumer and client preferences.
Against this backdrop, Buildcorp continues to invest in the development and wellbeing of its existing workforce, evolve its strategies to prepare leaders and teams for the future, and continue to look for new and innovative ways to attract, develop and retain a skilled workforce, to provide quality outcomes and deliver successfully to market demand.
Throughout its history, Buildcorp has aimed to be a company of great character and reputation. It has a collaborative approach to business and is proud of the partnerships that it fosters – both with clients, and with the broader community. Its approach is informed by an underlying philosophy and commitment – ‘We’re with you’ – which shows up in a variety of commercial and broader community contributions.
Buildcorp’s key commercial focus is on outstanding project delivery, reliability and character, and in helping to re-imagine the future with their clients. It is this commitment that their employees are also passionate about delivering. In partnering with clients like Macquarie Group, PWC, Suncorp, Ramsey Healthcare and Urbanest, they have been able to deliver quality outcomes and be recognised with 94 MBA Building Awards since 1991. With every project, the teams look to continuously improve on their work and their capability.
