ARYZTA is aware that the earth’s ecosystems are fragile and that environmental conservation is critical to the continued well-being of the planet, its natural resources and its citizens. In order to monitor ARYZTA’s impact on the environment, key bakery production metrics have been established for monitoring electricity consumption, gas consumption, wastewater intensity and overall carbon emissions. These metrics are used not only to assess the efficiency of their individual bakeries and to identify potential cost savings opportunities, but are also included as the primary inputs in determining their CO2 emissions per metric tonne of food sold, which is the key environmental performance indicator used for measuring the success of the Global ARYZTA Cares initiative.
All ARYZTA suppliers comply with ARYZTA’s Supplier Code of Conduct, which addresses business practices, adherence to labour laws, and other expectations. ARYZTA only purchase RSPO Mass Balance Sustainable Palm Oil derived products. ARYZTA also has a Partnership with Farmlink, a research facility and their flour millers promote the use of Australian Prime Hard wheat, which they use to produce buns. This is a long-term partnership to support the sustainability of this variety of wheat into the future and to look at long term carbon reduction across farming practices.
ARYZTA provides all the benefits of a global bakery, but with close-knit local teams where employees can feel at home, learn and progress, and build their career. The health and safety of their people is of paramount importance to ARYZTA.
