Fitness Playground

Fitness Playground has been selected as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2019.
The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice [EOC] recognises organisations which have developed leading workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

Fitness Playground opened its first location in Surry Hills in June 2014, originally operating as a bootcamp. Since then the company has continued to grow exponentially, opening four locations across Australia, each with approximately 3000 members. Fitness Playground’s most recent location, in Darwin, opened in 2017 and was recognised by Men’s Health as Darwin’s Gym of the Year 2018.

In 2018, Fitness Playground expanded into the boutique space of the health & fitness industry, successfully entering the market with its sub-brand The Bunker Gym, reaching capacity in 10 months, and being recognised by Men’s Health as Sydney’s Best New Gym for 2018.

Since then, Fitness Playground has continued to establish itself as a leader within the Australian fitness industry, challenging the norm and building its profile as a leading brand, through the successful launch of sub-brands Spin City & the Battleground in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Fitness Playground’s Mission is to change the gym environment & experience. Fitness Playground has a very unique market position, as both its customer proposition and model are different to typical Gyms, operating in the market as any of the following traditional operators:

  • 24-hour Gyms offering cheap & convenient memberships.
  • Full Service Gyms offering all access under one membership.
  • Boutique Gyms offering coaching & community.
  • Personal Training Studios offering a personalised service.

Fitness Playground’s position sits within all of these, offering a blend of each to ultimately bring the Member an entirely new experience.
