MindSpot

MindSpot has been selected as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2025. The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice [EOC] recognises organisations that develop workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices which demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

MindSpot is a national digital mental health clinic that has supported over 250,000 Australian adults through free, evidence-based assessment and treatment services. Delivered online and by phone, these services are based on Australian-led research and provided by qualified mental health professionals, ensuring accessible and confidential care nationwide.

To maintain high-quality service delivery, MindSpot invests in a strong workplace culture. Staff development, wellbeing, and competitive remuneration are prioritised. Under the leadership of Executive Director Professor Nick Titov, an internationally recognised expert in digital mental health, MindSpot has built a stable, high-performing team.

Mindspot fosters a collaborative and supportive workplace culture. Staff frequently describe MindSpot as a close-knit and inclusive environment, reflecting the team-oriented approach embedded across the organisation.

Between 2022 and 2024, internal surveys showed that, on average, 90% of staff were satisfied or highly satisfied with their employment, and 94% reported pride in working at MindSpot. Turnover rates remain consistently low, and staff always cite culture and work environment as key strengths.

MindSpot actively incorporates staff feedback into policy and operations. This has led to initiatives that improve flexibility, learning, and wellbeing. The organisation also contributes to workforce development through the MindSpot Academy, which provides training and placement pathways for emerging clinicians.

MindSpot’s core values are actively demonstrated across the organisation. Monthly all-staff meetings, led by Executive Director Professor Nick Titov, provide updates, reinforce strategic direction, and encourage open dialogue. These sessions promote transparency and alignment across teams.

Values are introduced early in the onboarding process. New staff participate in small-group sessions with Professor Titov to gain direct insight into MindSpot’s mission and operations. Additionally, he meets individually with every employee at least once a year, regardless of role or tenure, ensuring consistent leadership engagement.

MindSpot’s values are reviewed biannually during major team meetings and embedded in the annual Professional Development Review (PDR) process. Each PDR includes a “Values in Action” section, where staff and managers reflect on how values are applied in daily work.

The executive team maintains regular contact with staff through weekly group and one-on-one meetings with direct reports. This communication model is replicated across all levels, supporting staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development.

Guided by the strategic goals outlined in its organisational plan, MindSpot enhances employee recruitment and retention through a deeply embedded culture of learning and development.

MindSpot has delivered digital mental health services for over thirteen years, guided by principles of accessibility, person-centred care, and evidence-based treatment. These values shape both service delivery and internal operations, with a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing.
