Mader Group
Mader Group has been selected as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2022. The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice [EOC] recognises organisations that develop workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices which demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.
Mader Group was established in 2005 in Western Australia, off the back of Founder and Executive Director, Luke Mader, the first-ever tradesman on the tools. Working out as a single man band out of his Ute in the Kimberley, Luke identified an underserviced ‘niche’ in the market and recognised that he could provide flexible maintenance solutions to make a difference to the mining and civil industries. Thus, he launched a humble mechanical maintenance business. Today, that same business boasts over 1,750 employees who service more than 240 customers across 370 mine sites around the globe.
With a blue-sky business model that prioritises workplace culture and the principles of mateship and comradery in daily operations, the Mader business is heavily lifestyle oriented, giving employees access to highly flexible roster arrangements, extensive job variety, team building events, and exciting interstate and international career opportunities. Additionally, to achieve high performance and allow employees to develop their full potential, they are pleased to offer a ‘Global Pathways’ program. This program provides employees with opportunities to enhance their careers, with work options available to high performing team members in the Group’s North American and International (Africa and Asia) operations.
Mader firmly believes that training and development is important for the enhancement of an employee’s knowledge base and skillset, and to ensure employees have diverse career growth opportunities. To assist with growing and developing its workforce, as well as the industry as a whole, Mader are proud to have their own training initiative, the Mader Trade Upgrade Apprenticeship Program. The upskilling program helps widen skillsets and enable employees to achieve their full potential, opening up a variety of career progression and development avenues.
Above all, their highest priority is to provide a safe workplace environment for their team, ensuring all staff return home from site safely to their loved ones. Safety is embedded into all business activities, with the business proud to develop and implement a variety of systems that ensures employee wellbeing, both physically and mentally.
Mader acknowledge that their staff are their greatest asset, and the driving force behind Mader’s success. Mader is ultimately a group of likeminded people working toward a united goal, and it shows through the delivery of exceptional service, staff growth and retention, as well as company expansion, nationally and internationally.
