CoAct

CoAct has been selected as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2024. The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice [EOC] recognises organisations that develop workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through established policies and practices which demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

CoAct is a not-for-profit organisation that helps people across Australia find sustained, meaningful employment. It is a membership-based organisation that works with 15 service partners to deliver government-funded employment services. Formed in 1997, its model has remained unique in the employment services sector—a collective of not-for-profits joining forces to amplify its social impact.

CoAct delivers a range of government-funded employment services, including Disability Employment Services, Workforce Australia, Workforce Australia – Transition to Work, and the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network.

CoAct’s commitment to local employment and community strengthening is evident in its operations. A significant 92% of its revenue is reinvested back into the community, reflecting its dedication to making a local impact. Its operating structure is designed to meet all critical success factors of delivering highly regulated government-funded employment services.

CoAct’s employee value proposition stems from their customer promise: ‘We start with you.’ CoAct recognises that it must first start with its staff to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive long-lasting community impact. CoAct promotes an exceptional employee experience through intentional strategies prioritising wellbeing, flexibility, empowerment, development, and inclusion.

CoAct’s staff engagement speaks for itself, demonstrating its continued success beyond winning Employer of Choice in 2019 and 2021. Across 2023, 100% of survey respondents felt proud to work for CoAct. 100% of respondents felt that CoAct’s values aligned well with their own. 100% felt they made the right decision to join CoAct.

CoAct’s people-first culture is built on values and a vision that staff align with. This extends from CoAct’s mission to corporate social responsibility. From an endorsed Reconciliation Action Plan and leading diversity and inclusion initiatives to outstanding gender equality results (a gender pay gap of -5.7% compared to the industry average of 23%), CoAct’s social conscience runs deep.

CoAct actively engage with staff to ensure they feel respected and recognised. While the work is fast-paced and intense, CoAct believes there is always room to celebrate success and have fun.

CoAct has championed flexible work that works. They’ve developed a sustainable hybrid work model that has proven effective for employees and the business. Staff enjoy competitive compensation packages, comprehensive wellness initiatives and growth opportunities.

CoAct believes in ‘the power of many.’ Its organisational success stems from this. It’s the power of many, empowered to make a difference through a genuinely great workplace.
