Family Life is a Not for Profit provider of Specialist Family Services operating in the Bayside region of Melbourne. With 180 employees and a volunteer base of approximately 213, Family Life is funded by State and Federal government to deliver contracted support services to vulnerable families and children.
As an organisation, Family Life believes that every family deserves to live in a safe and supportive community. The work of Family Life supports this through family and individual support services, community strengthening programs, a network of community stores, a vibrant, engaged volunteer community and passionate skilled staff. Family Life strives to develop innovative solutions to achieve its vision of Capable Communities, Strong Families and Thriving Children.
As an employer that celebrates a rich and diverse workplace culture and client community, Family Life provides a thriving employee experience to staff, where a ‘people focus’ is central to leadership, strategy and culture. Family Life’s employee value proposition is modern, progressive and constantly evolving; hybrid working, flexibility, health and wellbeing and a commitment to The Family Life Way enables the organisation to attract, retain and grow a competent workforce whilst providing exceptional value as an employee experience.
Further to the exceptional employee experience that Family Life provides is the commitment and investment in education and training in which Family Life offers a supportive Learning and Development (L&D) strategy. It is through the investment in providing a multi-faceted L&D Strategy that Family Life can develop workforce capability to support the achievement of the 2020 – 2024 Strategic Plan and provide employees with a career growth and succession pathway.
Operating in a competitive market for talent attraction, Family Life uses an externally developed, benchmarked and informed remuneration framework and classification approach for non-award-based roles. This approach is directly linked to the annual performance goal-setting and review process, which enables Family Life to drive, incentivise and reward high performance.
Family Life is committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees, volunteers, contractors, visitors and clients. The utmost value is placed on the Family Life team’s safety, health and wellbeing and the legal, ethical and moral responsibility to prevent workplace injury and illness. Health, Safety and Wellbeing are a shared responsibility across all organisation roles, and key accountabilities are defined in Family Life’s framework within the Health and Safety Management System.
With 91% of staff showing strong commitment and intention to stay, Family Life has bold aspirations for continued growth, innovation and success for 2023 and beyond. Family Life will continue to provide an employee experience and workplace culture that delivers increased employee motivation and satisfaction.
