In a year of unprecedented challenges, it was this unifying culture that allowed the Detmold Group to rapidly respond and adapt to the global impacts of COVID-19. The safety of its people was of utmost importance, with people uniting across the global network to support each other, while ensuring reliable supply for customers around the globe. Due to the passion and determination of its people, the Group was able to rapidly respond to the growing demand for personal protective equipment. Within just 16 weeks, the Detmold Medical business became a reality, supplying this essential product to the Australian Community.
Even in a year of change and disruption, the Detmold Group continued to recognise the importance of its people, prioritising their development and growth through formal and informal training opportunities in formats tailored to the “new normal” workplace. This included programs such as internal coaching and mentoring, internally led training programs and external education. This focus on development was underpinned by a 70-20-10 model of learning, which supports the growth of knowledge and skills through a combination of action and on-the-job experience.
For the Detmold Group, achieving success is about identifying opportunities for development and growth, and aligning these with business strategy. Finding ways to celebrate and acknowledge progress and accomplishments is an important part of this process.
