Coates Hire has demonstrated a commitment to equal opportunity. To achieve diversity, the National Recruitment Centre has a target of shortlisting at least one women for management interview in 75% of all metro salaried roles. Coates Hire is a signatory to the he Australian Employment Covenant, an industry-led initiative that aims to secure 50,000 sustainable jobs for Indigenous Australians. Throughout 2014, Coates Hire aims to recruit at least one Indigenous staff member in each of the geographic areas of the business.
Coates Hire invests significantly in education and development of its employees. Initiatives include a three-stage induction program, an online learning platform, and product training along with traineeship and apprenticeship programs. All staff have a development plan and the health and wellbeing of employees is prioritised through the accessibility to flu vaccinations, screenings and seminars and health, fitness club and insurance discount programs.
