Lush Cosmetics has been recognised as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2015.

Lush Cosmetics offers a range of beauty and other cosmetic products. For over twenty years the company has provided a range of inventive goods that are made from high quality natural ingredients. The company founded itself on the principle of avoiding synthetic preservatives and to make cosmetics as natural as possible. The company has grown from a small business to a global enterprise with 926 shops in 51 countries around the world. In 2015, Lush Cosmetics has been recognised as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards.

Much of the business is greatly influenced by the opinions of staff, ranging from shop staff to members of all the other different areas throughout the company.

Three of the most recent LUSH campaigns regarding shark culling, marriage equality and listing the Great Barrier Reef as in danger, were all suggested by staff from LUSH stores. All staff are receive a 50% discount off every product offered in LUSH stores. Every 6 months staff are given a STAY interview – where discussions are had about their position and options for progression are considered. Bonuses are also offered across every level of staff for reaching and exceeding targets. Employees are offered a range of education and training options, with LUSH even offering unsuccessful job applicants the opportunity to intern and develop job related skills.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture; Leadership & Strategy; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration.

The Employer of Choice Framework is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.

The key attributes of the Employer of Choice Framework define the characteristics of high-performing, industry leading organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture; Leadership & Strategy; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration.
