The Australian operations of international consulting firm Klohn Crippen Berger began in Brisbane in 1993. They are renowned for their services to the engineering and geosciences sectors, having worked on some of the largest resource sector projects in the country. The organisation has handled waste management services for water supplies and mines across Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Mongolia.

To expand and enhance its organisation in the years to come, Klohn understands that it must foster its talent and provide its employees with a place to develop. Staff are exposed to mentoring, leadership development, negotiation skills and techniques, how to foster client relationships, and a range of other opportunities – the organisation boasts itself as a place of constant learning.

Klohn is closely involved with Movember, Fit February 10,000 steps challenge, “R U OK?” and a range of other good causes. 85% of employees receive pay increases each year – these raises are based on performing above and beyond what is asked of them.

The Employer of Choice Framework is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.

The key attributes of the Employer of Choice Framework define the characteristics of high-performing, industry leading organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.
