DHL Express has been recognised as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2015.
The Australian Business Award for Employer of Choice recognises organisations which have developed leading workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

DHL Express was established in 1969 by three entrepreneurs who identified a gap in international trade. Today, the company covers 220 countries and has over 100,000 employees. The company was based on moving international documents faster than other postage services, and today has grown into a huge player in the international express industry.

All employees attend the 5 day “Certified International Specialist Program” (CIS) in Brisbane as a part of their induction. DHL also contributes financially to courses that directly and indirectly affect employees’ roles. The company also offers further education and development options for staff. DHL runs employee of the month, service awards and recognises performances by rewarding staff with bonuses.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture; Leadership & Strategy; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration.

The Employer of Choice Framework is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.

The key attributes of the Employer of Choice Framework define the characteristics of high-performing, industry leading organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture; Leadership & Strategy; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration.
