Coleman Greig Lawyers has been recognised as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2014.

Coleman Greig is a legal firm based in Parramatta in Western Sydney. The largest Commercial law firm outside the Sydney CBD, Coleman Greig offers a range of services including commercial advice, litigation, property law, employment law, business migration, family law and estate planning.

The firm’s approach to employee development has influenced exceptional client service and staff motivation, commitment and satisfaction. For the last 15 years, Coleman Greig has worked closely with University of Western Sydney School of Law to offer a legal cadet program. Currently, the firm has seven qualified lawyers who came through the program. The Coleman Greig Women in Business Forum hosts four events a year, giving leadership and support staff the chance to be inspired by a high calibre of speakers and help raise funds for different charities.

Flexible work practices are encourages with options to job share, work part time or from home. Staff can also purchase and sell annual leave.

A committed Human Relations team oversees numerous initiatives big and small – from the weekly delivery of fruit to the creation of sustainability advocates, social events, Wellness Week, staff lunches and celebrations, Lord Mayor’s Corporate Dodge Ball Challenge and more. The program ‘Big Ideas’ captures and develops the ideas of all staff. Regular feedback surveys, meetings, and catch-ups supplement the open door policy and create a strong culture of communication.

Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture; Leadership & Strategy; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration.

The Employer of Choice Framework is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards.

The key attributes of the Employer of Choice Framework define the characteristics of high-performing, industry leading organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace. The criteria and sub-criteria provide a robust set of requirements that are used as the methodology for benchmarking and learning among the participating organisations.
